The opportunity

As a result of accelerated growth, Altus is looking for a new Professional Assistant in Morristown. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, this is a role for someone who thrives supporting a small team of energetic and ambitious people, performing adhoc administrative support requests as well as Excel reports and data presentations. Someone who wants to be actively involved in the day-to-day business, facilitating the appraisal management workflow process for client accounts.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Support the consultants. You will use Excel or our web-based system to maintain the appraisal schedules as well as to relay correspondence.
  • Run reports. You will compile and/or extract data from various software programs using Excel to generate reports.
  • Maintain data. You will use Excel and work with Client Leads to scrub and ensure accuracy of data.
  • Create presentations. You will build charts and graphs based on extracted data for use in Word documents or PowerPoint presentations.
  • Provide administrative support. You will perform general office and support tasks including invoicing, expense reports, travel arrangement, license renewals etc.
  • Plan events. Coordinate and oversee training and business unit events.

Our new Executive Assistant has:

  • The education. A degree in Business Administration is preferred.  Or a proven combination of education and direct experience supporting a small team at a growing organization.
  • The experience. A year or more experience in an administrative role supporting a team.
  • The soft skills. Good judgement, initiative, relationship building and proactive.
  • The technical skills. Expertise in MS Office particularly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • The balance. High-attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency with all requests, inquiries and assigned tasks.
  • Superior organizational skills. Proven ability to effectively prioritize many conflicting demands and assignments.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. From telephone to email. From presentations to letters.
  • The administration skills. Familiarity with typical office equipment and administrative practices (phone system, photocopying, faxing, video conferencing, scanning, etc.); superior keyboarding, editing and proofreading skills.
  • The personality. The drive and sense of ownership to perform effectively in a demanding high-growth, fast paced environment. High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
